Well this week marks the end of my crochet freedom. Its back to the grind, and if im honest, im so glad! Not that I wasnt enjoying a little break but I really love the motions of work. I like being able to switch my brain off from stitch counts and colour choices and focus on something else for a few hours a day. Its only 4 days a week so I still get three days to crochet and by creative, which is my dream work:play ratio.
This last week, before work started again, was filled and I mean filled with so many projects! I started a great pattern test (which im really looking forward to finishing this weekend), I filmed and edited a Dungaree video, I did my new pattern photoshoot, made all the different sizes and double checked the pattern, I went yarn shopping, I made a gift for a friend and I made this beast of a cardigan:
Isnt. She. Just. Fabulous.
I had so much scrap yarn that was just sitting around, like 5 huge bags full, that I just couldnt handle it anymore. So I set myself a goal to get rid of it all by my Birthday, part of me didnt want to go into another decade with all that just lying around taking up space in my craft room and my brain. I decided to make the Iron Lamb Sunday Funday Cardigan which I purchased not too long ago which was a great idea because the pattern was so easy to follow, it turned out to be so much fun! I had a lot of differnt size yarn so I just picked a size 10 hook and crocheted away, doubling up on yarn if I needed to and this was the result. One super cozy (extremely heavy) multicoloured cardigan that would make Joseph jealous! I know summer just started but I am excited for Fall so I can wear this every damn day!
What do you do with your scrap yarn? Do you save it all and make a big project like this, or do you like to get rid of them as you go? Do you even keep them? Im such a hoarder that I cant bring myself to throw them away, which I am extrmely happy about now! I cant wait to make more of these when I get more scraps...next time I want to make a big slouchy jumper.
I hope everyone had a good weekend and I just want to remind you that my pattern drop will be happening on Wednesday 27th (my birthday!) and I am so excited! I just put the finishing touches on the pattern and took all my pictures and did all the editing and she is ready to go!
